CHRONIC DISEASES

Taylor Medical Group — Atlanta, Georgia
Chronic disease treatments in Atlanta — a root-cause approach to metabolic syndrome, diabetes, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, chronic pain, and more

Living with a chronic disease changes everything. Your energy disappears. Your sleep falls apart. The weight piles on no matter what you eat. Pain becomes background noise you learn to live with. And the medications keep stacking up — one for blood pressure, one for blood sugar, one for pain, one for sleep, one for the side effects of the other four.

At Taylor Medical Group in Sandy Springs, we approach chronic disease treatments differently. Instead of adding another prescription to the pile, we practice root-cause medicine — digging into why you got sick in the first place. Hormone imbalance, nutritional deficiency, chronic inflammation, gut problems, toxic exposure, and unmanaged stress are the drivers behind most chronic illness. Fix those, and as a result the disease often improves — sometimes dramatically.

Dr. Eldred Taylor and Dr. Ava Bell-Taylor have spent over 20 years helping patients with chronic conditions that conventional medicine manages but never resolves. We serve patients dealing with chronic illness from Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Buckhead, Brookhaven, Chamblee, and across metro Atlanta.

Metabolic Syndrome Treatment in Atlanta

Metabolic syndrome is not one disease — it is a cluster of conditions that show up together and dramatically raise your risk for heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. High blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess belly fat, and abnormal cholesterol levels. If you have three or more of these, you have metabolic syndrome. We see metabolic syndrome in Atlanta patients more often than most doctors realize — and we treat all five components together instead of sending you to five different specialists.

Conventional treatment usually means a statin for cholesterol, a blood pressure pill, and metformin for blood sugar. Three drugs treating three symptoms — none of them asking why all three showed up at the same time.

The root cause is almost always insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, and hormone imbalance. Cortisol dysregulation from chronic stress drives belly fat storage. Low thyroid slows metabolism. Estrogen or testosterone imbalance changes how your body processes fat and sugar. Fix these, and the metabolic numbers often improve without stacking more medications.

Our approach includes hormone testing and optimization, nutritional counseling, medical weight loss, body composition monitoring, and targeted supplementation to address the underlying drivers.

Insulin Resistance

Insulin resistance is the engine behind metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and much of the weight gain that patients cannot explain. Basically, your cells stop responding to insulin the way they should. Blood sugar stays elevated. Your pancreas pumps out more insulin to compensate. That extra insulin tells your body to store fat — especially around your midsection.

Unfortunately, most doctors wait until blood sugar is high enough to qualify as pre-diabetes or diabetes before doing anything. By then, the damage has been building for years. Functional medicine catches insulin resistance early through fasting insulin levels, insulin resistance scores, and glucose tolerance testing — not just a basic fasting glucose.

Treatment focuses on dietary changes that stabilize blood sugar, exercise that improves insulin sensitivity, and correcting the hormonal imbalances that make insulin resistance worse. For patients who need medication, GLP-1 medications like semaglutide can help improve blood sugar regulation while supporting weight loss.

Obesity

Obesity is a chronic disease — not a character flaw. Your doctor may have told you to eat less and move more. You tried. It did not work. That is because hormonal, metabolic, and inflammatory factors drive obesity that willpower alone cannot overcome.

A sluggish thyroid slows your metabolism to a crawl. High cortisol locks fat around your belly. Low testosterone strips muscle mass, so you burn fewer calories at rest. Insulin resistance tells your body to store everything you eat as fat. Leptin resistance means your brain never gets the “full” signal. Until someone tests for these, dieting is like pushing a car uphill with the parking brake on.

Our medical weight loss program includes semaglutide and tirzepatide, bioidentical hormone therapy, peptide therapy, body composition analysis at every visit, nutritional counseling, and weight loss injections. The goal is not just a lower number on the scale — it is losing fat, preserving muscle, and keeping the weight off long-term.

Type 2 Diabetes

Most doctors treat type 2 diabetes as a lifelong sentence — take your metformin, check your blood sugar, and manage it forever. But for many patients, you can improve or even reverse type 2 diabetes when the underlying causes are addressed.

Insulin resistance, deep belly fat, chronic inflammation, poor gut health, and hormonal imbalance all feed into blood sugar imbalance. Address those root causes, and your body starts responding to insulin again. Blood sugar improves. A1C drops. Some patients are able to reduce or eliminate medications under physician supervision.

Treatment combines medical weight loss, dietary counseling focused on blood sugar stability, hormone optimization, targeted supplementation (chromium, berberine, alpha lipoic acid, magnesium), and IV therapy to replenish nutrients that diabetes depletes.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Doctors call high blood pressure the silent killer because it often has no symptoms until damage is done. The standard response is medication — sometimes two or three at once. Sure, the pills lower the number, but they do not fix what caused it to rise.

Chronic stress keeps cortisol elevated, which constricts blood vessels. Insulin resistance and excess weight increase blood volume and vascular resistance. Magnesium deficiency impairs blood vessel relaxation. Sleep disorders like sleep apnea drive blood pressure up overnight. Heavy metal toxicity can damage blood vessel walls.

Finding these root causes starts with lab testing, salivary cortisol panels, and nutritional assessment. Treatment may include stress management, magnesium and CoQ10 supplementation, chelation therapy for heavy metals, weight loss, and dietary changes — alongside medication when necessary. The goal is to lower your blood pressure AND reduce your need for medication over time.

Chronic Pain

Chronic pain affects everything — your sleep, your mood, your relationships, your ability to work and enjoy life. Conventional pain management often comes down to anti-inflammatory drugs, muscle relaxants, and opioids. These mask the pain without asking why it started or why it will not stop.

Instead, chronic inflammation, nutrient deficiency, hormone imbalance, and a hypersensitive nervous system (where your nervous system amplifies pain signals) are common root causes. Low magnesium increases muscle tension and nerve sensitivity. Low vitamin D contributes to widespread pain. Cortisol dysregulation changes how your brain processes pain signals.

Treatment options include ketamine IV therapy for pain that has not responded to conventional treatments, ozone therapy to reduce inflammation, IV nutrient repletion, hormone optimization, and stress management techniques. For musculoskeletal pain, we also offer soundwave therapy.

Migraine Headaches

Migraines are more than bad headaches. The throbbing pain, light sensitivity, nausea, and hours or days lost to a dark room — it is debilitating. Conventional treatment usually means triptans for acute attacks and daily preventive medications. However, they do not address why you get migraines in the first place.

Common root causes include hormone fluctuations (especially in women around their periods or during perimenopause), magnesium deficiency, food sensitivities, dehydration, blood sugar instability, and chronic stress. In fact, many migraine patients have more than one trigger happening at once.

The process starts with identifying your triggers through hormone testing, food sensitivity testing, and nutritional evaluation. Treatment may include magnesium IV therapy, hormone balancing, dietary changes, IV hydration, and ketamine therapy for patients with severe or frequent migraines that do not respond to other treatments.

Insomnia and Sleep Disorders

You lie in bed exhausted but your brain will not turn off. Or you fall asleep fine but wake up at 2 or 3 AM and stare at the ceiling for hours. Either way, the next day is a fog. Conventional medicine offers sleeping pills — Ambien, trazodone, gabapentin. These knock you out, but the sleep you get is not truly restorative. And the side effects and dependency risk add up fast.

In most cases, insomnia is a symptom of something else. Cortisol rhythm disruption is the most common cause — when evening cortisol stays elevated, your brain cannot wind down. Low progesterone in women causes anxiety and racing thoughts at night. Low melatonin production (which declines with age) shortens deep sleep. Blood sugar drops in the middle of the night trigger cortisol spikes that wake you up.

We use salivary cortisol testing to map your cortisol rhythm, check your hormone levels, and evaluate your brain chemical balance. Treatment targets the specific cause — whether that is cortisol regulation, hormone replacement, blood sugar stabilization, or stress management through counseling.

Chronic Fatigue Treatment in Atlanta

You are tired all the time. Not normal tired — the kind where rest does not help. Coffee barely touches it. You used to be energetic and now you drag through every day. Your regular doctor ran some labs, told you everything looks “normal,” and maybe suggested an antidepressant or better sleep habits. If you need a chronic fatigue doctor in Atlanta who actually digs deeper, you are in the right place.

Chronic fatigue is one of the most common complaints we see — and one of the most commonly dismissed. However, there is almost always a reason. Adrenal fatigue from prolonged stress drains cortisol reserves. An underperforming thyroid slows every cell in your body. Low iron, low B12, and low vitamin D are common and easily missed. Mitochondrial dysfunction — where your cells cannot produce energy efficiently — responds to NAD IV therapy and CoQ10.

The labs that other doctors skip get run here — full thyroid panel (not just TSH), cortisol curves, iron studies, vitamin levels, and metabolic markers. Once we find the cause, treatment is targeted: hormone optimization, IV nutrient repletion, adrenal support, and lifestyle changes that actually make a difference.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia means widespread muscle pain, fatigue, brain fog, and tender points that nobody can explain. The usual prescription is Lyrica, Cymbalta, or gabapentin — medications that dull pain signals but leave you feeling foggy, heavy, and dependent on the pills. Doctors often hand out this label when they cannot find anything else wrong.

From a functional medicine perspective, fibromyalgia is not a dead end. It is a sign that multiple systems are breaking down at once. Adrenal fatigue, low thyroid, magnesium deficiency, gut inflammation, and mitochondrial damage overlap heavily with fibromyalgia symptoms. Most fibromyalgia patients have hormone imbalances that nobody has checked.

Our treatment plan starts with thorough testing — hormones, nutrients, food sensitivities, and inflammatory markers. From there, we use a combination of hormone therapy, IV nutrient support (high-dose vitamin C, magnesium, B vitamins), ketamine therapy for pain, and stress management to calm the nervous system down.

Autoimmune Disease Treatment in Atlanta

Autoimmune disease happens when your immune system attacks your own tissues. There are over 80 recognized autoimmune conditions — and most share the same underlying triggers. We see patients with:

Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis — The most common autoimmune disease. Your immune system attacks your thyroid, causing hypothyroidism, fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, and hair loss. Standard treatment is thyroid medication alone. We also address the immune dysfunction driving the attack.

Rheumatoid Arthritis — Your immune system attacks joint linings, causing chronic pain, swelling, and stiffness. Conventional treatment relies on methotrexate and biologics. Gut health, food sensitivities, and chronic infections are common triggers that rarely get investigated.

Lupus (SLE) — A systemic autoimmune disease that can affect skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs. Stress, infections, sun exposure, and hormonal shifts often trigger flares. Managing inflammation and supporting immune balance are key.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) — The immune system attacks the protective coating around nerves, disrupting communication between the brain and body. Oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage play a role in progression. NAD therapy and glutathione IV support nerve protection and cellular energy.

Psoriasis — An autoimmune skin condition causing red, scaly patches. Often connected to gut inflammation, food sensitivities, and stress. As a result, treating it from the inside out produces better long-term results than steroid creams alone.

Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis — Autoimmune inflammation of the digestive tract. Covered in detail in our GI disease section below.

What Triggers Autoimmune Disease?

Gut health is where most autoimmune disease begins. Leaky gut allows undigested food particles and toxins to cross the intestinal barrier and trigger immune reactions. Chronic infections, food sensitivities (especially gluten and dairy), environmental toxins, and chronic stress all feed autoimmune flares.

Our approach includes food sensitivity testing, gut healing protocols, glutathione IV therapy for immune modulation and detoxification, ozone therapy for its anti-inflammatory properties, anti-inflammatory nutrition, hormone balancing (especially thyroid for Hashimoto’s patients), and stress reduction. These work alongside your specialist’s care. The goal is fewer flares, less medication dependence, and a better quality of life.

Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is one of the most misdiagnosed and mistreated conditions in medicine. Acute Lyme — caught early with a known tick bite — responds to antibiotics. Chronic Lyme is a different story. The standard tests miss it. Doctors dismiss it. And patients suffer for months or years with fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, headaches, and neurological symptoms that nobody can explain.

Chronic Lyme often coexists with other infections (Bartonella, Babesia, Ehrlichia) and triggers widespread inflammation that affects the brain, joints, heart, and immune system. It mimics fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, MS, and depression — which is why so many patients get the wrong diagnosis.

Advanced testing beyond the standard ELISA/Western Blot to identify chronic Lyme and co-infections. Treatment includes targeted infection-fighting protocols, ozone IV therapy (which has antimicrobial and immune-modulating properties), high-dose vitamin C, glutathione for detoxification, and immune system support to help your body fight the infection while managing symptoms.

Fatty Liver Disease

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) affects roughly one in four adults and most of them have no idea. Fat accumulates in the liver, inflammation builds, and over time it can progress to scarring and liver damage. Your doctor may catch it on a routine blood panel when liver enzymes come back elevated — or it may go unnoticed for years.

Insulin resistance, obesity, and poor diet are the primary drivers. High sugar intake, processed foods, and excess alcohol all overload the liver. Hormone imbalance — especially low thyroid and high cortisol — makes it worse. Toxin exposure adds another layer of burden.

Treatment focuses on removing the causes. Medical weight loss, blood sugar stabilization, dietary changes, and liver detoxification with glutathione IV therapy to support the liver’s natural detox pathways. NAD therapy also supports liver cell repair and energy production.

Gout

Gout is more than a painful joint flare. It is a metabolic disease driven by elevated uric acid levels. The pain — usually in the big toe, ankle, or knee — is excruciating. Conventional treatment means colchicine during flares and allopurinol to lower uric acid long-term. But the question nobody asks is why uric acid is elevated in the first place.

Insulin resistance is one of the biggest drivers of high uric acid. The kidneys struggle to clear uric acid when insulin levels are chronically elevated. Dehydration, fructose-heavy diets, alcohol, and kidney stress all contribute. Gout patients often have metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes, or obesity happening at the same time.

Addressing insulin resistance, cleaning up the diet, supporting kidney function, and reducing inflammation often brings uric acid down naturally. IV hydration and anti-inflammatory nutrients can help during acute flares and as ongoing support.

Hemochromatosis (Iron Overload)

Hemochromatosis causes your body to absorb and store too much iron. Over time, excess iron deposits in your liver, heart, pancreas, and joints — causing fatigue, joint pain, liver damage, diabetes, and heart problems. It is genetic (hereditary hemochromatosis) and far more common than most people realize.

Standard treatment is therapeutic phlebotomy — removing blood regularly to lower iron stores. But managing the downstream damage requires more. Liver support with glutathione IV, monitoring for diabetes and cardiac complications, and nutritional guidance to avoid iron-rich foods and supplements are all part of a complete treatment plan.

Chelation therapy may also help remove excess iron deposits. We monitor ferritin, transferrin saturation, and liver function closely throughout treatment.

Parkinson’s Disease Support

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological condition caused by the loss of dopamine-producing neurons in the brain. Tremors, stiffness, slow movement, and balance problems are the hallmark symptoms. There is no cure, but there is far more that can be done beyond standard dopamine replacement medication.

Oxidative stress and mitochondrial damage are central to Parkinson’s progression. Supporting cellular energy with NAD IV therapy, reducing oxidative damage with glutathione IV (glutathione is directly involved in protecting dopamine-producing neurons), and removing heavy metals through chelation therapy can slow the damage and support brain function alongside your neurologist’s treatment plan.

Eczema and Acne

Skin conditions are not just skin deep. Immune dysfunction drives eczema, and food sensitivities often make it worse. Acne in adults — especially hormonal acne along the jawline and chin — points to androgen imbalance, insulin resistance, or gut inflammation.

Treating these conditions from the outside — steroid creams, antibiotics, Accutane — may suppress symptoms but does not fix the cause. When the cream stops, the condition returns.

We look at what is driving the skin from the inside out. Food sensitivity testing identifies dietary triggers. Gut healing reduces the inflammatory load. Hormone balancing corrects androgen-driven acne. Glutathione IV supports detoxification and reduces the oxidative stress that fuels flares. Many patients see dramatic skin improvement once we address the internal causes.

Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and Gastric Reflux

Inflammatory bowel disease — Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis — involves chronic inflammation of the digestive tract. The pain, bloody stools, urgency, and fatigue are life-altering. Conventional treatment relies heavily on immunosuppressants and biologics, which carry serious side effects and do not address why the gut became inflamed.

Gastric reflux (GERD) is another condition treated with long-term medication — proton pump inhibitors — that mask the symptom while potentially creating nutrient deficiencies (magnesium, B12, calcium) and gut microbiome disruption over time.

Our approach to GI disease starts with identifying triggers. Food sensitivities, gut dysbiosis, parasitic or bacterial infections, and stress are all common drivers. Treatment includes dietary modification, gut healing protocols, glutathione for reducing intestinal oxidative damage, and nutritional repletion through IV therapy to bypass the compromised gut and deliver nutrients directly. GI testing helps us identify the specific imbalances driving your symptoms.

Lipid Storage Disorders and High Cholesterol

Most doctors treat high cholesterol as a standalone problem — here is your statin, take it forever. But cholesterol is a symptom, not a root cause. Inflammation drives cholesterol production. Insulin resistance changes your lipid profile. Thyroid dysfunction raises LDL. Your gut directly affects how your body processes and clears cholesterol.

Lipid storage disorders involve the body’s inability to properly break down fats, leading to dangerous accumulation in organs and tissues. These conditions require careful monitoring and a treatment approach that goes beyond medication alone.

We look at the full lipid panel — not just total cholesterol. Particle size, inflammation markers (hs-CRP), insulin levels, and thyroid function all factor into the picture. Treatment may include dietary changes, targeted supplementation (omega-3, CoQ10, berberine), hormone optimization, and weight loss — often producing better lipid results than statins alone, without the muscle pain and fatigue side effects.

Heavy Metal Toxicity

Lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, and aluminum accumulate in your body over a lifetime. Dental amalgams, contaminated water, occupational exposure, certain foods, and environmental pollution are common sources. Over time, heavy metals disrupt brain function, damage kidneys and liver, interfere with hormone production, and drive chronic inflammation.

Symptoms are vague — fatigue, brain fog, headaches, joint pain, mood changes, tingling in hands and feet — which is why heavy metal toxicity is rarely diagnosed. Most doctors never test for it.

We test for heavy metals through urine provocation testing. Chelation IV therapy is the gold standard for removing heavy metals safely. EDTA and DMSA bind to metals in your bloodstream and pull them out through your kidneys. Glutathione IV supports the detoxification process and protects your organs during chelation.

Viral Illness — Hepatitis, HIV, and Long COVID

Chronic viral infections drain your immune system, deplete nutrients, and create persistent inflammation. Hepatitis damages the liver over time. HIV suppresses immune function. Long COVID leaves patients with fatigue, brain fog, shortness of breath, and autonomic dysfunction months or years after the initial infection.

Conventional treatment focuses on antiviral medications, which are often necessary. But supporting your body’s ability to fight the virus, repair the damage, and recover energy requires more than a prescription.

High-dose vitamin C IV supports immune function and reduces viral load. Glutathione IV protects the liver (especially important for hepatitis patients) and reduces oxidative stress. NAD therapy restores cellular energy for patients with post-viral fatigue. Ozone therapy has antimicrobial and immune-modulating properties that support recovery from chronic infections. These treatments work alongside — not instead of — your infectious disease doctor’s care.

Parasitic Diseases

Parasitic infections are far more common than most people think — and not just in tropical countries. Contaminated food, water, travel, undercooked meat, and even pets can introduce parasites. Symptoms are often vague and overlap with other conditions: bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, skin rashes, brain fog, teeth grinding at night, and unexplained weight changes.

Many patients have been told they have IBS, chronic fatigue, or anxiety when the real problem is an undiagnosed parasitic infection quietly draining their health. Unfortunately, standard stool tests miss many parasites. Functional stool analysis and specialized GI testing are far more accurate.

Treatment includes targeted infection-fighting and parasite-killing protocols, gut restoration, immune support with high-dose vitamin C and glutathione IV, and nutritional repletion to repair the damage parasites leave behind.

Idiopathic Conditions — When Doctors Can’t Find the Cause

“Idiopathic” is the medical term for “we don’t know why.” If you have been told your condition is idiopathic, it means conventional testing could not identify a cause. That does not mean there isn’t one — it means the right tests were never run.

Idiopathic neuropathy, idiopathic fatigue, idiopathic pain, unexplained weight gain, mystery rashes, undiagnosed dizziness — these labels get handed to patients every day. The visit ends, the patient leaves with no answers, and the condition continues.

Functional medicine exists to answer the questions that conventional medicine stops asking. Hormone imbalance, hidden infections, heavy metal toxicity, food sensitivities, nutrient deficiency, and gut problems are behind many conditions labeled “idiopathic.” The difference is knowing where to look.

If you have been told there is no explanation for your symptoms, that is not the end of the road. It is where our work begins. We start with thorough functional medicine testing — hormones, cortisol patterns, thyroid panels, nutritional levels, heavy metals, gut health, and inflammatory markers — and follow the evidence until we find something actionable.

Our Approach to Chronic Disease Treatments in Atlanta

Most chronic disease shares the same underlying drivers. That is why patients with one chronic condition usually have two or three. The same inflammation that causes insulin resistance also feeds autoimmune disease. The same cortisol problems behind insomnia also drives weight gain and high blood pressure. Treating them separately with different specialists and different pills misses the connections.

At Taylor Medical Group, we use functional medicine to look at the whole picture:

Hormone Testing and Optimization — Thyroid, cortisol, testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, and growth hormone. Imbalances drive most chronic symptoms and are routinely missed by conventional labs. Learn more about our hormone testing →

IV Therapy — NAD+ for cellular energy and brain function. Glutathione for detoxification and immune support. High-dose vitamin C for inflammation and immune defense. Myers’ Cocktail for general nutrient repletion. Methylene blue IV for mitochondrial energy, brain health, and cellular repair. See all IV therapy options →

Medical Weight Loss — Semaglutide, tirzepatide, peptide therapy, and body composition monitoring for patients whose chronic disease is connected to excess weight. Learn more about medical weight loss →

Stress Management and Mental Health — Ketamine therapy for treatment-resistant depression and pain. Counseling for stress, anxiety, and trauma. Cortisol regulation with adaptogens and lifestyle changes. Learn more about our psychiatry services →

Nutritional Medicine — Food sensitivity testing, elimination diets, targeted supplementation, and dietary counseling that addresses the root cause rather than counting calories.

Detoxification and Advanced Testing

Detoxification — Chelation therapy for heavy metals. Ozone therapy for infections and inflammation. Glutathione IV for liver support. Environmental toxins are an underrecognized driver of chronic disease.

Advanced Testing — Functional medicine screening, salivary hormone testing, bioimpedance body composition analysis, food sensitivity panels, and detailed blood work that goes far beyond what a standard annual physical covers.

Chronic Disease Treatments Atlanta — FAQ

Do you replace my regular doctor?

No. We work alongside your existing doctors. If you are on medications for blood pressure, diabetes, or other conditions, we do not stop them. We look for the root causes behind your chronic disease and address those. As your health improves, your primary care doctor may be able to reduce medications over time.

Do you accept insurance?

Taylor Medical Group is a cash-pay practice. This gives us the time to spend 30-60 minutes with you at each visit, run the labs that insurance-based practices skip, and create treatment plans that are not limited by insurance formularies. Call 678-443-4000 for pricing information.

More Questions About Our Approach

How is your approach different from a regular doctor?

Most doctors treat the symptom — high blood sugar gets metformin, high blood pressure gets lisinopril, pain gets gabapentin. We ask why your blood sugar is high, why your blood pressure is up, and why you are in pain. Then we treat the cause. Sometimes that means the same medications. Often it means something completely different that your regular doctor never considered.

What if I have more than one chronic condition?

That is actually the norm, not the exception. Most of our patients have two, three, or more overlapping conditions. The good news is that chronic diseases share common root causes. Treating the underlying inflammation, hormone imbalance, or nutritional deficiency often improves multiple conditions at the same time.

Can chronic disease really be reversed?

Some conditions can be reversed — type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome are often dramatically improved or resolved with the right approach. Others, like autoimmune disease, may not be cured but can be managed to the point where flares are rare and quality of life is restored. Every patient is different. We set realistic goals based on your specific situation.
